Accessories Make The Room!

By
Home Stager with Redesigned Spaces - Northern Virginia

Here is an occupied staging job I recently did where the homeowner had no accessories.  The challenge was using the existing furniture and working with white walls to create drama and impact.  By changing the furniture layout and bringing in rental artwork and accessories we were able to create space that was more inviting to potential home buyers.

Sandra:

Just proof that what we do works - look how simple the changes were - and yet only someone with the eye for staging was able to make it happen! Thanks for sharing.

It's so true! The longer I have been staging, the more accessories that I load into my clients' listings. It just really makes the home feel welcoming and also so much more visually interesting.

Cheers,

Cindy

Sandra - amazing how simple changes can make such a difference.  The room looks more porportionate now and what a difference pictures make to the starkness of the walls.  Great job!

What you did in the room improves the appearance of the dimensions. The before looked so long and narrow, not to mention random. One couldn't invision their own furniture in that room. Your arrangement and addition of accessories made a big improvement even though you didn't have much to work with. Now the room makes sense in the eyes of a buyer. Great job!

Sandra -- Excellent job!  I especially like the way you repositioned the sofa on the opposite wall from the window.  Windows are major focal points so blocking them with a sofa can sometimes keep buyers from truly appreciating them.

Thanks everyone.  I am always surprised how many homeowners actually have their furniture in the wrong layout.
