The Department of Planning and Land Use's Building Division conducted its final inspection and issued its approval to occupy Jamul's new fire station Feb. 23. Located on State Route 94 and Peaceful Valley Ranch Road, the station is a 5,200 square foot building with office space, sleeping quarters, a kitchen and 475 square feet of covered patios. The station also includes a 7,500 square foot apparatus building. The Building Division has been working with the San Diego Rural Fire District since 2008 to ensure the new station is safe and ready to serve the public.
