Chicago Area Homes For Sale Inventory Report - April, 2010

The onset of the Spring selling season has led to a 11.5% increase in the number of homes listed for sale in the Chicagoland area from February through April, 2010. The average asking price across the entire market has remained flat despite the increase in inventory of homes for sale, with quite a bit of variation from city to city. As shown in the chart below, asking prices increased in eight of the 15 cities in the Chicagoland area with the largest number of listed properties, and declined in seven.
