Now Wait a Doggone Minute. You're Not the Boss of Me! Sorry, I must've forgot. YOU ARE!

Bosses

Is it that hard that we sometimes forget who we work for?  We are dealing with contracts almost constantly.  What do these pieces of paper say?  You should know them nearly verbatim.  Maybe knowing just isn't enough, possibly we should understand what they are saying also.  Because so much of our business is based on legal precedent it is always subject to interpretation by all involved parties.  The days of the handshake are gone.  Every step of the process is mired in minutia due to someone, somewhere who may have been financially damaged by our processes.  Brokerage Relationships aside, know that essentially whoever sources our commissions are the bosses of us.  Typically for most of us this will be the SELLER.

Kevin, I have always been amused by the comment "I want to own my own business so I can be the Boss"....fact is, when you are self-employed EVERYONE else is your boss.

I do use this saying on my husband quite often since I have to have control of SOME part of my life - being self employed

Edward & Celia, exactly, sometimes an associate may need to do this repeatedly throughout the process.  Thanks!

Deborah, it's where the grass is always greener wouldn't you say?  Thank you!

Renee, we have come to prefer the gesture of zipping our lips instead, before the wrong words can be uttered.  Wait a second, I must confirm if that's correct or not.  She says it's right, thanks!

I think it's funny when the other agent in the transaction thinks they're the boss of you...hee hee! :) Fortunately for me that hasn't happened for a long time.

Almost any sense of posturing from associates is funny to me especially at the onset.  Shannon, to take on the "Smart Girl", they'd just not be in their right mind!
