REALTORS'S AND LOAN OFFICER'S DO YOU HAVE A MY SPACE PAGE

By
Real Estate Agent with Keffer Realty

I just wanted to find out how many Realtors and loan officer's have a My Space page.  I know we should always take advantage of all the marketing we find especially if it is free.  Are you getting leads from this type of marketing?  Or is it something you have just because it is free and out there?  I know it won't hurt to have one, I am just concerned with the type of calls or emails that would come from it.

Thank You in advance!

Hi Lorinda,

I have a page on My Space.  You have to be careful because you can get a lot of spam and a lot of junk to come through.  I have not received any leads from the page but I have found a lot of people from high school and college that I have not seen or heard from in a LONGGGGGGGGGGGG time.  Oh and it helped me learn some additional html too.

Lorinda,

Thanks for the post. I do not have a myspace page, so I would be curious as well, to see the responses.

I am a little leery about generating a page on MY Space. My eighteen year old is constantly on there and I assume it attracts a very young and immature audience. I definitely do not need to weed through that type of clientele. Although, I know what happens when one assumes.

Lorinda:

I wonder about the demographics of myspace.  It seems like the age groups are young.

Hey Lorinda - I second what Kimberly said above.  I had a Realtor friend talk me into it, but it really hasn't done anything for my business (yet), just getting me re-associated with old school friends.

Hi Bill,

I wonder about the demographics also and the only people I hear talk about my space are the very young, a friend of mine son has one and he is only 11 years old.

Everyone keep your comments coming so far we hear that it is not bad for us, it helps us to find old friends but it has not done anything for our business.

ThankYou!

I have had a MySpace page since the it first came out, and have found its basis is mainly finding those you have lost contact with. I didn't put anything directly on there about being a realtor, because I know that the median age of users is early twenties, at best. Usually this age group is not focused on being serious with our type of market. I am also wary of generating anymore SPAM. However, in finding old contacts, I was then able to spread the word that I am a realtor. So having the page has been useful in some regard.
