Living in Nebraska South of Kearney on the Platte River I used to be awakened by the sounds of the cranes during their annual migration. In a recent trip back to Nebraska I took these photo's of some of the Sandhill Crane migration. There are about 600,000 cranes that make the migration annually from Texas to Canada. I'm not sure how they were tagged "Sandhill" Cranes.
With wingspans of over five feet these huge birds lay over in Nebraska to feed and mate. Have a great weekend.
