I know, I know, welcome to the world of blogging (finally).........

Real Estate Agent with MadisonRealEstateToday.com and Bunbury & Associates Realtors

I don't know about you, but this whole world of blogging has been a little intimidating.  I read a ton of books about HOW to blog, I've read tons of blogs about WHAT to blog, but in the end.......what could I possibly have to write about?

Then the light bulb went off.....THAT'S THE WHOLE POINT OF BLOGGING!!!!!!!

Larry calls me a techie-geek, well don't tell him, but this is my second time typing my first blog.  Erased before saving happened.  That should be a technology illness for which we all are allowed the right to kick, scream, stomp our feet and in general, throw a big fat tantrum! :)

Why haven't I ever blogged before?  Scared?  Yep, you guessed it.  My high "I" personality (more on the DISC profile in future blogs) probably and secretly didn't want the potential negative attention.  Well, it's time to get over it!  JUST DO IT!  I tell people that all the time, so I figure it's about time to start listening to my own great advice.

Honestly, what got me ready to JUST DO IT, was an article in REALTOR MAGAINE AUGUST ISSUE that must have spoken volumes to me, cause

HERE I AM!  I AM TYPING (again, for the second time, ARGH! :))

The article said (by the way, in case you don't have time to read it yourselves) that only 4% of Realtors are blogging and 20 and 30 somethings read blogs, so hello, those are potential future home owners that I am not speaking to.  Besides the obvious that this is kind of theraputic! :)

Well enough typing (did I mention that this is the second time I typed this blog?) for today.  It's a beautiful day out today and I should be soaking up the rays instead of (re-) typing a blog.

More later.  Until then.......

Congratulations on your first (well, second :0) blog...and don't worry, I'm always having to re-type after NOT saving a document - and in many cases, spreadsheets!

Be careful - blogging can be addictive, especially when you see actual RESPONSES to your blog!

Congrats on your first blog post. I too am brand spanking new to AR and the world of blogging. I find it terribly intimidating. I still enjoy reading more than writing, but I hope to work into the writing part more. Enjoy the rain, there is much to learn here. Welcome.

Thanks everyone for your very kind words of wisdom and enthusiasm.  It wasn't as bad as I was expecting (akin to sky diving, for example)! :)

Can anyone give/forward me very "lay man terminology" on RSS?  I am thinking I get the theory, but want to know more.

For instance, the little indicators to the right of the comments section:  what does that mean?

Look for my next post re: the DISC profile.  I've got some really amazing and interesting stories to share (all incognito, of course).

Enjoy what's left of your weekend! :)

P.S. If anyone ever has anyone relocating to Madison, WI, I'd love to chat with you further! :)  Just had an epiphany:  If you don't ask for the business, you'll never get it! :)  DA to me! :)

Hi!  I think I am learning a lot just by reading all the other blogs.  I worry about making my blog perfect and then run out of time to work on it.  Practice, practice

Hi Beth An,

I can't imagine some one as verbal as you having trouble blogging.  Once you drop the training wheels you will be hard to stop.  It's a great tool not only networking but also cranking up your website profile for the "crawlers" and improving your ranking.  A few agents in our company have a very nice blog attached to their website, it's worth your time to take a look, a lot of good ideas on future blogs.

Welcome Beth- Boy do I understand what you are saying. Don`t forgets that by blogging you won`t makes everyone happy. I person will say great blog, another will say horrible blog. Some people will say I am glad you are here, others will say stop blogging. The most important, and valuable thing is that you will learn from other people, and you will read some cool stories. Goo luck
