Appointment books vs PDA-cell phones...which do you prefer????

When I started in this business I used a little appointment book that I carried everywhere. That and my cell phone were like extensions of my body! Well, times change and ever so slowly, so do I.....

About a year ago I needed a new cell phone and wanted one that included a PDA....after I got it I absolutely HATED IT!!!! I continued to use my appointment book and complained on how I had wasted money on this impossible gadget than needed a stylus to do anything! Then I slowly started using it....only on major events. Things I could remember without the PDA (you never know when those things might loose something). Over time I started using it more and now I can't be without it! And needless to say, the appointment book hit the trash can about 6 months ago!

There little things (PDA cell phone combos) are GREAT!!! It is my alarm clock, my appointment book, it takes notes, has voice recognition dialing, connects to the internet (ok, I still don't use that part....one step at a time) and even reminds me of birthdays on a reoccurring calendar!

How do you feel about these things??? Once the iphone gets voice recognition, I may upgrade to that! I can't imagine a phone without voice recognition in traffic!

Which phone/pda are you using while waiting for the iPhone to get voice recognition? Got rid of the  appointment book a long time ago.

My phone is with me almost 24/7..not in the shower and not in bed. I leave it in the office for overnight charging.

Mine goes to bed with me, since it is also my back-up alarm clock! It is from Cingular, the 8125. I really couldn't be without it anymore!

I have used a Palm for many years and now have a Treo 650. Once you get used to it it's great, just remember to back up your data regularly
