Wow....this is absolutly amazing.   Check out Groupon it's a little hard to explain, but what a great tool for both sellers and buyers of a local product.   Buyers and Shoppers....if you want to get in on some of the absolutely best prices in town you need to sign up for this free service.  Some of the bargins we've seen in the DFW Dallas Fort Worth area:

  1. $25 Coupon for Duke's Roadhouse in Addison for $10.
  2. $22 Haircut at Sport Clips for Men for $10
  3. $35 Coupon for Thai food at Banana Leaf for $15
  4. $49 for a 50min Massage at Four Seasons valued at $125

Sellers/Store Owners

Need to increase your traffic exponentially at your store?   Try Groupon.    I've heard some feedback from sellers, and that is that they don't specifically make money off the groupon deal, but it generates a lot of new traffic to their store.  It's best to also have an "upsell" product also available to add on for additional revenue to the Groupon offer.   Get ready for lots of traffic.   I think of some of these small restaurants that might get 50 covers a night, they sell 2000 groupon coupons, that could double their business overnight for a month.   So plan ahead for the volume.  You get the customers in the door and you want to treat them right.  You also need to figure out a way to recapture their business as well.  Plan this out well.  You might want to limit traffic to your non-busiest days, so as not to disrupt your current business.   Have diners come in on Monday and Tuesday nights, not Friday and Saturday.  Have them come in for lunch instead of dinner.  

Just my 2cents worth.   Enjoy the savings if you are a shopper.  Enjoy the traffic and sales if you are a Seller.   Please let me know how this works for you in either instance.
