Pricing to sell. (Craigslist items)
At the end of March I started doing some spring cleaning around my house. We had a lot of baby and toddler items that were no longer needed so I figured I'd give Craigslist another try. I had tried a year ago but couldn't really see anything through to where I had cash in my hand.
This time as I've posted items, I've been mindful of many posts I've read on AR about selling a home and how important it is to get the list price correct right from the start.
Keeping that in mind, I applied this mindset to my new ads in Craigslist. I was thoughtful of the items I listed and the prices I've asked. I looked at new prices and prices already posted on similar items. So far so good. I've managed to move things out of my house at a good pace.
The other helpful thing I did was to upload a good picture on each item.
So, I'm pleased with the cash I have in my pocket and with the space that has been freed up in my home.
In my spring cleaning I discovered a box that contained about 20 or so VHS tapes, all young child and baby themed stuff. I'm not going to bother with Craigslist with this box. I've never donated to my library before but I think the library could still get some good use out of these tapes. Plus, if I am correct, I can get a small deduction on my taxes from the donation.
In any event, price something to sell and it sells.
