I have been on Twitter for almost 3 years, or is it longer, hard to tell.... I remember when they only had about 1000 members! Of course I was there and found it profusely annoying because it tweeted my phone every few seconds - it drove me nuts and it may have ven cost me money then for each and every tweet! and none of it was really useful info, it was all about how often a person drank coffee and had to use the loo!!!! So i kind of stayed away for a very long time, even though i was still there I certainly was not active.
Then just over a year ago I started it up again because it was the latest "buzz" word and all of a sudden people were talking about it, yet most were still very skeptical. So I dabbled for a while (again) but could not convince my friends etc that it was the latest and greatest for getting the word out, any word....! So yet again i didn't do much
And here i am again.......but my how attitudes have changed....as we all know everyone from your local grocery store to the President of the USA is tweeting, and now i understand it pretty well after 3 years of this and that and i am thinking that i want to connect with as many realtors around the globe as i can...and as much as this is true I am having to rethink this thought! Mostly beacuse I am very selfish (NOT REALLY!)
Now that I have a FOLLOW ME button on my web page I have to ask myself "do i really want the people that hit my page and will potentially follow me on twitter, begin to follow other realtors that i am following...I think NOT!" sorry guys, i love you all but the page hitters i want to keep as many as i can LOL So here I am spending a couple of hours thinking about what do other people want to hear, see and find interesting? Aside from your daily word from the Whitehouse, or the latest depressing economic outlook I came up with the following........parks and recreation, disney, walmart, bloom grocery, traffic alerts, fishing, beaches, sheriffs dept, even my local healthcare group is here! 911 dispatch......the list goes on I have cake decorators, vineyards, restaurants i have visited and so on....
Would love to get suggestions from you all for my new outlook on Twitter - i can follow Realtors and banks etc all day long and usually only get listings, and mortgage updates but this one hopefully will add a service to my customers, clients and page visitors...thoughts?
PS I actually have two twitter accounts, one specfically for Realtors etc (its the one i have had for 3 years!)and the other I am now constantly developing fo my "follow me" on my web page
