Crunch Time ~ Only 2 Weeks Left For Tax Credit

By
Real Estate Agent with Kee Realty

This is it folks. The clock is ticking, the Tax Credit is expiring on April 30th. You still have 2 weeks to get a home under contract ( signed, accepted offer) and claim the tax credit.

The home you are purchasing must be under contract by April 30th and must close by June 30th

One thing I've noticed in talking with buyers is that most did not know for the tax credit, a first time buyer is described as someone who hasn't owned a primary residence in the past 3 years.

Do you qualify for the tax credit ?

I wonder how many people are sitting there thinking this will be extended again? I hope there aren't a lot, it doesn't look like an extension is likely.

Drew - thank you!

Terry - I DO NOT believe there will be an extension. It has been very quiet.

I prefer not to think of it as crunch time, but rather finally the housing market will be able to correct itself rather than trying to have the government fix things.
