In less than a week new laws go into effect that affect owners of homes built prior to 1976. Beginning on April 22nd, 2010, any remodelling on these homes must be done by a contractor certified to work on homes with lead bsed paint. There are not enough contractors available to meet the demand so there will be delays for homeowners unless Congress extends the deadline.
