Creating your place on the web is extremely important...finding your voice...your favorite places to socialize....consistency....and the time spent is crucial too.  Many people on the net are the Curious George type. At least I can speak for myself....when I am looking to purchase something...I don't just run to one site...I look around...and the site I not based on domain name...or the first site I come across...I got to get that warm....fuzzy not girlie but a comfort...based on information..and content found on the site...I want to see ratings...I want to see guarantees...I want to feel the trust through the world wide web.

Trust-Integrity-Professionalism-EZ To Work With-Results!

When I search...I go through the first page of Google and sometimes end up on page 7. I mean if you were looking to hire an agent would you pick the first one?  I cannot assume the most Internet savvy REALTOR would be my first choice...meaning...I know I have to click with that person, I have to be able to work with this person and this person needs to be the expert in their field.  On top of that I realize we still need to connect...otherwise we would be machines. 

Search Engine Results Matter-The Selection Process

Do not assume that all people search, connect and select an agent based on being #1 on Google.  Let's get real...being number one on Google helps us to be found faster and gives us better odds. SEO plays an important role but you must maintain your own personal integrity..meaning...presenting yourself as an expert, someone that would be awesome to work with...and at the end get the job done!

Jack of All Trades-Are You The Master Sharing Your Own Important Real Estate Skills Online?

When I read that only 3% of REALTORS blog it really didn't surprise me..I mean its important to be social within your communities...with your friends and family (your sphere), partake in everyday actual non virtual activities in order to grow your business, write contracts, go on appointments and close transactions...all in a days work.  How long is your workday and do you use the web effectively? 

Plan Your Social Media Strategy

That's why you need a plan...a plan that will work for you-where to be social online, think about how you are setting up your readers frequency.... how often, meaning how often will you post here and post there and your goals.  What results do you want to produce?  Its a simple plan.  Track your results. 

Social Media Is Breaking Bread Before An Appointment

Real estate is a numbers game and so is social media success...based on platforms that you use, your subscribers and visitors...the content you place on these social media sites are the first introduction....almost like breaking bread prior to an appointment...or the small talk that leads into the next best thing a visit to your website.

A couple of things you should think about:

  • 100 million – New email users since the year before.
  • 47 million – Added websites in 2009.
  • 187 million – The number of domain names across all top-level domains (October 2009)
  • 18% – Increase in Internet users since the previous year.
  • 126 million – The number of blogs on the Internet (as tracked by BlogPulse)
  • 27.3 million – Number of tweets on Twitter per day (November, 2009)
  • 4 billion – Photos hosted by Flickr (October 2009)
  • 924 million – Videos viewed per month on Hulu in the US (November 2009)

Social Media is the least expensive form of marketing costs and stays online reaches more people than any other avenue...yet not everyone understands that.  If you look at these numbers its clear there is so much opportunity with social media and the internet.  To read additional stats read more..

Real Estate Has Become Technical Warfare!

Last night while talking with a client they simple stated these days real estate has become technical warfare!  They are absolutely correct but it doesn't have to sound so deadly...just think about how you interact with people face to face..present yourself online in similiar fashion.  Face takes time..just like building true face to face takes patience...but it produces results....cost effective results!
