Green Expo was fun-worms not so much

There might be a rain Barrel in my future. I wanted worms for the composting and creating better soil purpose but, those that were offered were the size of yarn or thread and while they probably would do some good-I was thinking of a worm we used to call nightcrawlers. Anyone remember fishing with that kind of critter? I wonder where one finds a nightcrawler cluster these days-Another good reason someone developed that Google site I guess!

I have started working on my garden beds this year to feed them and actually get some landscaping going for the yard. I met the ladies from the Rose society and perhaps will visit their next event an Open House for only 3-4 houses but, very well represented with Roses. April 23-24. My mother was a roses kind of lady well maybe still is but, she doesn't grow them these days. There was a rose garden in my childhood by the garage that she carefully tended and fed every year. I remember blooms that came close to 5 inches across-incredible pinks and reds and corals. Kind of like Mom's lipsticks! She scolded us religiously if we thew the balls anywhere near the roses. I never saw her talking to them-but frankly it would not have surprised me in the least to see her do that. That's how dedicated she was to those flowers.

My Lovely Oldest Daughter and My Lovely Mother-the Rose lady. This is the first photo that made me realize how much Jess looks like my Mom-Even to the Gray eyes. Fun to share a memory with you all. Now I have to go Google for worms!
