I love to check the Osprey nests when we're out on our Southern Oregon water ways, and often catch quite a few at home this time of year. Had I had my camera ready just seconds earlier today, I would have caught an osprey exiting their nest, but alas it was not to be. I did catch this bird, though I have no idea what it is! We'll see if our local Audubon Society can educate me...
Wow --- what a place it chose to homestead in! Centainly can't say they opted for a roof over their heads.
Sorry you missed the Osprey picture.

I always wonder how their nest's stay up there. You'd think a strong wind would blow them down
Robin and Sue - Gives sleeping out under the stars a different perspective, eh?
Jim - I was thinking the same thing today. It was pretty gusty this afternoon, and we had some pretty strong winds last week. Quite the architect/builders aren't they?
Karen, I am with Jim, that looks like any good wind would blow down that nest. That is just cool to have captured any sort of bird in the nest!
They don't always seem to pick the best places to nest. Too bad birds don't have agents to help them find a good location.
Karen: That looks like a pretty good location to me. It may be high up in the wind... but it is still there... so I am guessing no problems with the wind. And... the good news... no danger whatsoever of flooding. Cute picture... thanks for sharing some of Mother Nature's wonders.
Ospreys are finding new homes in Nh voer the past 3 years , nice to see them arrive.... Thanks for sharing
That's a very cool picture, no matter what the bird is. I just got a bird book but it is too small for me to tell.
Tony & Darcy - That's one build you won't find me taking on! :-)
Samantha/Karen Anne - Location Location Location! I expected to see an osprey, and this was a surprise.
Tom - You are a birder, too, eh?
Diane - We have quite a few of them in our corner of the world here. Klamath Lake which is just over the Cascades from us is a birder's haven.
Marchel - Thank you. From a distance, it looked like a small black & white duck, but I just couldn't zoom the lens in any further and see much of anything or get close enough to tell.
Debra - Thank you. It really is amazing, isnt' it?
