That blue sky made the photo!

Now if only I can stop sneezing...

Caron,

Amen to that!

But I'll bet your state flower, the Iris, is in bloom.

Tony,

You're welcome!

Tim,

Thanks!

Gary,

I used to live up your way, and it's a beautiful corner of this world.

Dogwoods are some of my favorite blooming trees. This pic reminds me of one of the puzzles I used to put together as a kid -- challenging with all of the branches and blooms against the solid blue sky.

Mike,

Nice contrast between the white flowers and the blue sky. The dogwood is a great part of spring. :)

Hi Mike, that is a real postcard photo. Nicely captured. I grew up with a Dogwood tree in our yard and it was so beautiful. Don't see all that many and haven't seen so far here in CA.

Hi Mike - A lovely display! The dogwood tree was always one of my grandmother's most favored, and in memory of her, we have two planted in our back yard. I can't wait for them to bloom!

Wow, They are pretty.  I don't think I have ever seen Dogwood in real life.  Do we have them in Arizona?

Doreen,

Apparently our climate (at least in parts of the state) will allow the dogwood to grow.  I googled the pink dogwood, and found this bit of knowledge:

"If you live in Alaska, Arizona, California or Hawaii, growers are not allowed to ship this tree to you due to those states' agricultural laws that have been enacted to prevent certain insect pests and plant diseases."

Mission Hills mystery woman,

(LOL, Karen...)   You need a signature!

Debi,

According to Google, they grow in Colorado.

William,

California is pretty restrictive on what they allow horticulturally; see my comment to Doreen.  And thanks for the compliment!

I had forgotten about those restrictions.  I remember when we were younger getting asked about having fruits, vegetables and plants coming into AZ.

I also kind of remember my grandmother not liking that rule... she probably broke it, too.  It's to keep the bugs and disease out because it can cause such devastation to the crops.  It's the same reason for California, as well.  That spreads like wildfire.
