If you are reading this you must be curious as to what those abbreviations mean at the end of a real estate agent's name. The abbreviations or letters are meant to represent special designations that a real estate agent works towards.

While some agents have many of these abbreviations behind their name it's because we want to make the public aware of the special training some of us have taken. Listed below are my designations. As a professional I didn't take the training to look good in print, I took the additional training to assist buyers and sellers better. Better than the average Joe.

We take additional training, utilize additional tools to help buyers and sellers and must abide by the REALTOR Code of Ethics.

ABR-Accredited Buyers Representative-If you are buying real estate it's important to work with a professional buyers agent, one who has taken months and years to obtain this designation, not only do we train, we have to qualify for this designation with experience and number of successful transactions.

CRS-Council of Residential Specialist-To earn the Certified Residential Specialist (CRS) Designation, every REALTOR® must have significant experience and demonstrate volume of real estate transactions or gross sales, as well as complete rigorous educational requirements.
Every CRS designee is required to maintain membership in the National Association of Realtors® and to abide by its strict Code of Ethics.
The training available to CRS designees includes a strong focus on technology and its applications in the real estate business. Less than 4 percent of all licensed Realtors® are Certified Residential Specialists. The typical CRS designee earns an average income of $85,000 nearly three times that of a Realtor® who is a typical sales agent.
