Power Washing will make your home sparkle. Home selling tip

By
Real Estate Agent with First Weber Hedeman Group

Here is an often overlooked item on the get my home ready to sell checklist.

Power-wash everything. Cobwebs, mold and dirt accumulate on decks, patios, fences, trellises, eaves, windows and siding over the winter, but can be blasted away in an afternoon with a power washer. Just be sure not to get the water under the siding courses or in soffit vents, where the moisture can cause damage.

You can buy an electric home power washer for as little as $80, or a gas engine model for $200 and up. One can also contact your local handyman service to do this for you. So give your house a bath today and sell it tomorrow.

I think you will be surprised how affordable the Dairyland is,

so come to my land of cows and plows and visit for a day, but stay for a lifetime

Thanks for sharing your tips for spring cleaning. I am always worried about too much power with the power washing. We need to be careful not to remove the paint.

Scott.....power washing does a great job on everything that can be washed....I have it done every year, especially the composite deck.

It seems like you're encouraging sellers to utilize the WOW factor.

If your home looks better than others in the neighborhood (read: competition), you'll be able to sell it for more or in less time--maybe both.

It's easy, inexpensive and can make a home look like new.  More sellers should do it.
