Politics are sometimes my weakness...and sometimes I slip!

But, I hope that you will take me for who I am and more importantly, whom I hope to be: (a good and decent human being with faults, passions and compassion for everyone I meet).

So sue me.  I'm passionate about politics and patriotism and I have strong beliefs.  I've always believed that those are traits to be celebrated.  Yet once in a great while, I "pop-off" on social media because I don't have enough places to let off the steam of that passion.  Invariably, I pay the price by losing a customer or somehow offending those with beliefs different than my own.

Let me say this about my business: I provide a service needed by all walks of life and by all kinds of people and I provide that service with equal enthusiasm and care for anyone who would hire me.  In terms of business, I don't honestly care about your politics or beliefs because they are not relevant to your need for my services.  I would hope that conversely, others might recognize that I offer a wealth of experience in my chosen career and that regardless of those personal beliefs I try so hard to mask, I too suspend my personal beliefs as they are not a function of the business I conduct.

I'm certain others face this dilemma on a regular basis.  For me the difficulty is in tamping down the passion...restraining my opinion.  Forgive me when I slip.  My intent is never to offend but instead to serve and I promise to do my best to remember that!

Shannon, you've taken an important first step. More importantly, you've acknowledged that you may have offended someone unintentionally - and that takes courage that many don't have.

Shannon: that is a very honest post. Usually i don't mix business with politics unless these clients become friends.

I allow everyone leeway when it comes to politics as they are entitled to their opinion just as I.

William, Lloyd and  Joyce,

My intent was simply to say everyone is imperfect and everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.  My inability to downplay such belief is truly a weakness but I am not puposely viscious in my delivery and will strive to tone down such opinion.  Believe me it is a struggle!  I hope your struggles are few!  Thanks for the comments!

Shannon, spent 25 years in politics.  Gotta remember, it's just a game in the end.  Can't take it too serious.

Craig, thanks for your perspective.  I grew up not understanding when friends of mine were such poor losers at games/sports.  I suppose politics is a game [just with very high stakes] but I better understand their passion now.  The trick is keeping such passion under wraps and reminding myself constantly about what is appropriate...
