It was a bright and beautiful day last Tuesday when I headed to my waterfront listing to set up for the Agent Luncheon. The tempature were just right...the sun beams danced through the huge waterfront windows and down by the waterfront glistened into a million little diamonds across the water. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect day.
As I pulled into the driveway with my sunroof open and inside packed with luncheon goodies I was definitely feeling quite happy. I opened the side door to the home and started unloading and running around to turn on the million and one lights (ok...maybe not that many) when agents started pulling up. How wonderful.
As they walked around peering into all the rooms of this spectacular home I finished setting up the food. I had brought all the plates, glasses, wine, water, fruit, cheese, vegetables and dessert and my partner was bringing the bread and salad from the Chesapeake Grille. Though she ran a few minutes late and about gave me heart failure once there all was well once again. The salad from this place was awesome and well worth waiting for.
Many agents who attended I had never met personally so it was fun to meet and talk with all of them. Cheryl Ritchie, an Active Rain member, had rallied some of the troops from her office which was wonderful, and Monique Hailer stopped by and shared some time with us as well. As conversations went from real estate, to the home, to blogging I mentioned that this listing came from the Sellers contacting me through Active Rain. Oh my... what did I say...many asked. You are here because of your blogging and Active Rain? Yes...that is correct. Amazing isn't it I said as those of us already on and using Active rain just smiled.
The flurry of agent activity soon ended as each headed to their next destination. Before each left I asked them to leave a card with a guess on how much this home appraised for just a few short weeks ago. The closest guess would win a $50 American Express Gift Card. As I looked over the guesses there was one which was just $22,000 off and it was made by one of our own Active Rain Members Jen Anderson. How absolutely cool was that!!
As everyone left and the house became quiet Brian Mayer, another Active Rain member and mortgage officer with Envoy Mortgage, and I sat and talked for what seemed like hours about everything and anything. We ate some more of that delicious Chesapeake Grille salad and way too many desserts as we laughed and lamented over life in the field of real estate. As I cleaned up and left some lunch fixings for the owners to have for dinner Brian worked right beside me packing and loading my car. A true gentlemen for sure.
On the Waterfront....The story of an Agent Luncheon powered by Active Rain was a huge success. It was a fun-filled afternoon of great company, delicious Chesapeake Grille salads and a wonderful opportunity for my Sellers to have their home seen by some great agents.
Agent Luncheons, Opens and Networking always seem to be such fun when powered by Active Rain.
So...till next time.... You will find me hanging in the Rain
