Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill Offers Terrific Jamaican Cuisine in the Encinitas Restaurant Community

Encinitas Restaurant Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill

Looking for something different in the Encinitas restaurants? Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill offers terrific Jamaican cuisine in Encinitas around the corner from Moonlight Beach.

I drive by Jamroc frequently. I hear great things about it all the time. But for one reason or another I never dined there...until last night.

It was a real treat. And I wish I had done myself a favor of visiting before this.

Some of the decor at Encinitas Restaurant Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill

The minute you walk in the door you KNOW this is a Jamaican eatery - the smells, the menu, the décor, the casual-come-as-you-are-and-hang-out kind of place at the beach on the Coast Road just a few blocks from the beach. Palm trees outside and reggae music in the background add to the island feel of the Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill. Whether or not you have been to Jamaica you will feel right at home.

The Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill menu is eclectic and well priced with the dishes you would hope for - jerk chicken and pork, curry beef and goat, festival, classic drinks like a Dark and Stormy and a variety of rum concoctions, and bunch of side dishes and desserts.

There are two indoor dining areas, or take out, plus you can eat out on the patio. There's live music on Fridays and Saturdays - definitely going to check that out. They recommend reservations for parties of 4.

There are a bunch of Encinitas restaurants but I would rank Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill right up there on the list in terms of ambiance, the food and value.

Visit Jamroc 101 Caribbean Grill at 101 N. Coast Highway 101 in Encinitas, just north of Encinitas Boulevard. (760) 436-3162. Email them at Eat@Jamroc101.com.

Jeff, we have a couple of Jamaican Restaurants here in town but I have never tried them.  But after reading your post I might just have to stop in at one of them.

Looks yummy... I fell in love with Caribbean food when I was in the BVI sailing a couple of years ago.
