It's Black and Cream: Working with the Toile Wallpaper

We staged a beautiful million dollar plus home this week in the exclusive Bear Creek Country Club community in Woodinville, Washington.  This sprawling rambler has a wonderful floor plan and everyone on our staging team fell in love with it, including me!

When I first previewed the home for staging, I knew that we would need to work with the black and cream toile wallpaper in the master bathroom.  By using a black and cream color scheme in the bedroom, including a dramatic headboard and beautifully patterned bedding, the master suite is now pulled together without looking too "matchy".

Thanks for stopping by, everybody, to comment!  I also love toile!  I have a red and cream toile apron that I wear when I bake.  However, toile is one of those "taste specific" items when selling a home, so we needed to show how great the toile looks with added black and cream in the master bedroom.

I found this blogpost thanks to Judi Barrett's reblog. You made the toile wallpaper make sense and you made it look intentional. That's the ultimate compliment for a stager. The size and color of the bed, the bedding, the bedskirt all work to balance out the big black and cream bathroom.  Most buyers when confronted with a dramatic decorating issue will do nothing but focus on it for the entire time they're in the room and they can't see past it unless someone shows them the way. In this case, the buyer would be able to focus on the other details of the room because of your staging. Great job.
