Maywood Station - Commemorative Engraved Bricks Available !

Integrated into the paver walkway round the historical Maywood Train Station, are commemorative bricks, engraved with messages from supporters of the station.

Some are purchased in remembrance of someone near and dear, and some are just purchased and engraved with the name of the family to show their support for the Station Museum, as all proceeds go towards helping to maintain and enhance the fabulous station and its artifacts !

Orders are currently being taken for a new round of commemorative bricks and they can be ordered in the following sizes: 4x8" and 8x8".

The 4x8" will be incorporated into the existing platform surrounding the Station, and the 8x8 engraved bricks will be incorporated into the existing brick walkway leading up to the station.

4x8" bricks are available for just $75 each, with up to 3 lines of engraving, and up to 13 characters per line, and the 8x8" bricks are available for $250 each with up to 6 lines, also having a max of 13 characters per line.

Engraved bricks ordered between Jan 1st and June 30th, will be placed at the station in early Fall 2010 !

Order forms are available at the Maywood Station on museum open house dates, or at the Maywood Historical Committee Website at www.maywoodstation.com, where you can print out a mail order form with instructions.

All engraved brick orders are tax deductible, and purchasers will receive a confirmation letter, as all proceeds go towards the further preservation of the Maywood Station Museum !

That is so cool!  I have to admit I was amazed at how similar it looks to our Tomball rail station.  For years it stood vacant and abandoned in a local park and then with the citizens contributions was moved back to the tracks in Tomball and is now a park.

Maybe I should tell them about the bricks.  That is quite reasonable and what a wonderful way to help preserve our heritage.

Hi Sheldon, What a cool way to support the Station Museum.  I have seen bricks like these engraved in various other places, they seem to leave a history of their own.

History is so important, I especially love the old train stations and school houses. It is an effort to refurbish these wonderful old buildings, but it is so worth doing

Don't be so modest Sheldon. I don't know why you didn't show the brick you purchased.....

There is something about seeing the names written on the bricks that makes me very emotional.  It's such a touching way to pay tribute to a loved one.

Sheldon.  This is a great way to support the local train station. Not only will you keep the history going, but you are making it yourself by adding your name for the future generations to see.

I'm a real pushover when it comes to having my name on bricks. I know there are bricks in Texas, Louisiana, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Florida, and California that have my names on them. I should put together a list, if I could remember them all.
