Marketing to Farm Areas

The best way in my opinion to market to farm areas is to offer something of value to the neighborhoods...preferably a website or newletter where they can share their ideas, sell their stuff, trade recipes, make announcements and meet the new neighbors.  Mail is currently being thrown away after hopefully a quick glance and only the people that are buying or selling at that time actually may keep your mailing unless it has a useful purpose. Most of the people I have quized do not even keep the calendars any longer....

 So what is a realtor to do?  I decided to become the neighborhood expert and found a great program from Connecting Neighbors that I signed up for and will let you know how it works for me.

 Please feel free to share your opinions on marketing to your farm area as I know there are some other great ideas out there....

The best way to farm an area is to take the most valuable thing you have, TIME, and let them know who you are in person.

Christi-I worked in a couple Farm areas for the 1st 8 months of real estate.  Unfortunately, even with the diligence of door knocking, sending a monthly mailer, and calling.  I never received anything from the 8 months.  I wish I could give you more positive information.

Farming does take time, about 6-9 months of consistent work before they will even start to remember who you are.  It is expensive and time consuming but in time it will pay of in the long run.

Hope this works. Referrals are the KEY though!! Do a great job and be there at for the client when they need you! it will snowball from there!
