I AM IN SHOCK! AND DOING A HAPPY DANCE!

By
Real Estate Agent with Ayres Realty

.I just closed a home last week for a first time home-buyer that was a personal referral to me from a previous client.  This couple was young with one small child and they started out telling me of some issues they had with credit etc.

After putting them in touch with a lender and the lender tells me everything should be fine just a couple little things, we proceeded to write a contract on a home we found on our 2nd trip out.

Well I keep waiting, and waiting to get that phone call that let's me know we start our hurdle jumping.  IT NEVER CAME.  WHY?

Because this young couple, having gotten in some serious debt with 1)youth, 2) a preemie baby that required a lot of hospital care, had moved in with her parents and proceeded to pay off debts, save and scrimp on every part of their life that they could.

They weren't sure when they first contacted me if they had done enough to get themselves ready but the lender assured us they had.  As we walked away from that closing table I think they were still in as much shock as I.

Of course first time home-buyers are my favorite believe it or not.  While they are not always the easiest ones to work on I have to say they are so rewarding.  You walk away from a transaction with such a good feeling knowing that you helped them accomplish something they had been dreaming of for a while.  What better feeling could you ask for.

Kuddos to you. I know how you feel because you know you made a right decision for them - watching out for their best interests. It is not always easy to do (because us realtors have bills to pay and a life to live) but definitely very rewarding..... I believe sometimes we are called to help people in the most unimaginable ways.

Congratulations!  Douglasville are old stomping grounds for me.  I can't believe how much it has changed.  I think there is probably nothing better than helping a young family get into their first home.  Being a Realtor is hard work but when it pays off, it really pays off and not always in $$$.

Loreeno- It is a good feeling especially to see a young couple that really worked so hard finally acheive their dream.

Donna- Yes Douglasville has changed a lot.  I grew up here and still amazed at how different it is.  Yes, it gave me a really good feeling to help them acheive their dream.

Teresa, Suzanne- Like everyone else I like to vent about the bad ones but I think it's important to share those good ones.  After all we all know what the power of positive thinking can do.  Thanks.

It's truly a blessing to see the look of joy on the faces of first time home buyers when you help when you help them find their first home.

I always love first time home buyers also. It is such a fun process and to get something for someone when they think it wasn't possible. I have also aligned myself with investors that want to also help first time home buyers, by purchasing fixer uppers and helping first time home buyers get into them.

Sybil, it is just such a fabulous feeling being able to help couples who think they will NEVER be able to get their own home.  It may sound corny, but when my head hits the pillow the night after having such a closing, I sleep very, very well !
