A few days ago, our newest client, a sweet gal from Canada, received 7 boxes of brand new postcards that we designed and printed for her. She thinks of herself as a "pain in the BEEhind" client (her words), but in reality, she was great to work with. She contacted me with a request for rates and such, and I bludgeoned her with a whole bunch of annoying questions about the kinds of folks she was marketing to, her business model and all that jazz. She was a great sport and communicated with us daily to the tune of a few dozen emails. When she got the cards, she was thrilled, and wrote a blog about how Jon (my better half, and the one who does the design) and I rock.
The blog generated quite a discussion and resulted in a lot of comments: some good, some bad, some vanilla. One of the commenters, Chris Olsen, stated that he might be contacting us to design and print a Sold card.
Two days later, we are happy to say that the design of Chris's brand new Sold postcard is all done, and the cards are going to press tomorrow. Chris, just like Tanya, turned out to be a perfect client. He answered all my annoying questions within minutes, sent us everything we asked for and gave us the creative room to do what we thought was right. He KNOWS his market, knows who he is and what makes him stand out from the crowd. He made it easy to design the card that would appeal to his prospects.
So no matter a few ruffled feathers, the important thing is we got a great client who, in my humble opinion, got a card he is happy with designed and printed at a great price.
So, Tanya - it's been two days. What you said on your post was honest and sweet, and, from a marketing perspective, did wonders for this here little outfit...
Thank You! :-)
