"Got Iphone Business Apps?" Not SHY to say WHY I will wait (breathlessly) at the gate for the NEW iphone...

This Southern Maryland Realtor is Not SHY to say WHY I will wait (breathlessly) at the gate for a NEW iPhone...The Contact Manager Program I have used for decades is called Agent Office. Ownership shifted from Fidelity to Emphasys  a while back and there has been no upgrade from Version Ten in a long, long, years-long while which feels like an eternity for technology. I also use Top Producer lightly. I LOVE their CMA program and their 24/7 website and their action plans and their Market Snapshot and anyway I am considering doing a swap in this balance because of the iPhone. It was really difficult to make the Quicken to Quickbooks transition this year. So this is nothing I take lightly. Add another factor in the mix..,Quickbooks Online has an iPhone application and even though there is a monthly fee, the calls and the upgrades are free as can be. Talk about influencing the decision.

Not SHY to say WHY I  will wait (breathlessly) at the gate for a NEW iPhone...If you use these two Contact Management products the old iPhone is the only device that works easily for both. Old, as in antique. I am a tech junkie. I am on the front line when a new device comes out for work. I love to get them up and running despite all the ranting Riley Rover hears but never reveals because it just plain fascinates me. So to have the free upgrade waiting at Verizon for two years is unheard of for someone like me. This old technology means SLOW push driven emails to avoid the convoluted synch process with Agent Office and a Blackberry. This means no Droid either since neither Contact Manager system  supports the Droid or the iPhone now for that matter.

Not SHY to say WHY I will  wait (breathlessly) at the gate for a NEW iPhone...But I am hearing rumblings. Like maybe Top Producer is coming out with an Iphone application. And that maybe Verizon is going to get the iPhone. Verizon is the only service that works well in Southern Maryland when your livelihood is related to the phone. So as a Realtor, it has been a frustrating stuck in the mud situation with all these parameters.

I am hearing enough rumbling on blogs and in conversations that I think there is HUGE hope on the Southern Maryland Realtor horizon. Enough hope that I went to the iPhone website and drooled this morning. Here are all the features that make me do mental cartwheels ( the real ones would hurt)  about the thought of getting one..click here. The article is called up to Speed on Day One. Pull versus pull email, GPS, maps, voice memos, voice activation, conference calls, multiple SMS, cool apps, cool business tools like cut and paste or pdf reader and, of course. speed. Yep, I can act like a fool about what a change this will make after being stuck in the mud with old technology this long on the old  version Palm phone. I forgot to mention that the new Palm models do not work with the two Premiere Contact Manager programs either. Stuck in concrete is not neat when you think  NEW technology is tough to beat.

I am rooting for Top Producer to get the iPhone application, Verizon to get the iPhone, and me to get all the cool new technology (4G??) that this entails. Is the Droid on the Top Producer horizon...I hear they were simply flooded with iPhone requests so this may be the direction they took. Is Verizon launching the iPhone in Southern Maryland..I sure hope so. It's enough to make me change decades of the same Contact Manager program and move over to Top Producer as the mainstay to get all this new technology working. And fresh off an Easter Computer crash, this makes all the more sense to me.

There was the year of the iPod. Then the year of the Kindle. Then the year of the Scansnap. I hope this is the year of the iPhone. Those devices made a big difference. Let's hope Cheryl can do Cartwheels this year in Southern Maryland. No, the real ones were for the Cheer leading days. Anyway, in the meantime, anyone "Got Apps?" I'd like to keep a list of iPhone business apps so I am getting ready. I did find this list of business apps, but what are your favorites? It's the power of positive thinking. Even Riley Rover has his paws crossed for me on this one. You see, I can pull out the GPS and find the closest Pet Smart between appointments.

Barbara, it was a typo I was able to correct immediately because of you. Thanks! "Say" is what I meant to type not "sat". It is corrected and thanks for the heads up.

I actually love the Mac Commericals. I replay them sometimes for the chuckle. I love the iPOD, want the iPhone, but was worn out many years ago when I tried to do the dual platform with the Power Mac. There are too many roadblocks with Realtor Programs that assume windows for me to want to conquer. So, simple becomes complicated when this reality gets tossed in. But at heart, the Mac and apple products fascinate me. I will be happy with this one victory.

I hear you as went from Quicken to Quickbooks too. Our daughter got the Droid and I wish, but it will not work either with what I am using now. Hope you get your apps. I too look at the Mac and played in the Apple Store.

James, Southern Maryland switched to the Sentrilock service rather than go the Supra route. That is another dilemma thrown in the mix for Realtors.

Dick and Dixie, I wrote a 50 item cliff notes version of Quickbooks for the Realtor Brain if you would like a copy. That was a tough learning curve and I almost after a year have conquered the curve. Which contact manager do you use? I am really anxious for the iPhone in Southern Maryland.

Apple products are addictive. Once you get the iphone you'll want a iMac, then a Mac Book, then a Apple Airport Extreme, and an Apple TV.... So be careful buying apple... ADDICTIVE! (Right Tom Priester?)

Oh and by the way Cheryl... I am writing this on a iMac using Windows 7 there are no issues. I prefer the Mac OS but for work still need to use Windows, this iMac has both.  I am still never going back from Apple.
