March home sales up 40%?

What a joke the media is when it comes to this whole real estate disaster.  On Friday I'm watching the so called "experts" on one of the financial stations talking about how home sales were up in March by approximately 40% and how that was such great news.  Glory glory, we have turned the corner finally.  Oh but wait.  It appears the numbers are skewed because that sudden burst was due to new construction contracts signed just prior to homebuyers credit expires.  They are not closed mind you, but the media is counting them anyway as sold.  These are simply people who have gone to contract.  Now what I think will be the bad new ultimately.  When let's say May's numbers pour in that sales percentage will dramatically decrease, leading these airheads wondering why.  The bottom line is that sales will go back to it's "normal" low before the mad rush to beat the feds.  I just wonder how many of these buyers will actually close now that they have already been counted.
