My heart goes out to the families who have been affected by the tornado devastation in Mississippi. I grew up and still live in the midwest where tornadoes are always a threat this time of year. Does anyone know of any Realtor sponsored relief funds for these homeowners? I'm sure the Red Cross is heavily involved, as well as the state National Guard. But since we are a real estate site, and there certainly is a lot of torn up real estate right now, I would love to be aware of any Realtor sponsored aid to which we could donate

In my experience, Gary Keller, CEO of Keller Williams usually steps out front of the pack to help his local franchise brokers. My friends at Keller Williams told me how much they did for their people impacted with Katrina. It would be great if NAR could have some form of team in place to coordinate with the local state associations and local boards to help their members. Maybe it is time for Active Rain to come out in front of everyone else and make a difference!

Usually things are done on a local level with the Realtors and the various Realtor Associations. I sometimes find the local Realtor Associations in the affected areas and find out where to send donations since they almost always have some sort of donation fund set up at a bank.
