Hollywood is coming to South Windsor! Though the town's economy is quite robust already, a proposed South Windsor Movie Studio, between Rte 5 and Rte 291, will undoubtedly elevate the town's economic health to new levels. Hal Katersky, a studio developer originally from New England, has proposed the development of the South Windsor Movie Studio at the site of the old drive in, that would draw significant revenue for South Windsor, as well as attract attention to the area.
Mr. Katersky has stated that a South Windsor Movie Studio will work wonders for the local economy. It would add 115 permanent jobs to the area, as well as 500 new constructions jobs and as many as 1500 new seasonal jobs each year. These jobs would have an average salary of about $68,000 annually, which would work out to several million dollars being pumped into the economy each year. Local business and the real estate market would benefit tremendously from this development.
