Top 10 Effective Marketing Strategies for Realtors?

By
Real Estate Agent with Keller Williams Realty of the Treasure Coast 3068211

According to a recent survey of Realtors conducted by Home Gain, these are the top 10 effective marketing strategies for Realtors:

1. Referrals (Scored 8.7 out of a possible 10)
2. Featured Listings (4.8)
3. Email Campaigns (4.7)
4. Postcards/Mailers (4.6)
5. Blogging (4.1)
6. Online Lead Generation Services (4.0)
7. Facebook (4.0)
8. LinkedIn (3.6)
9. Outdoor Ads (3.6)
10. Print Ads (3.6)

I find it surprising that when it comes to Web based marketing, no category scored above 4.8 out of ten for effectiveness. So I have to wonder: of the 1,300 agents surveyed, how many are tech savvy and know how to effectively market homes on the Web? Based on my own experience, here is what I deem to be the 10 top marketing strategies:

1. Referrals
2. SEO optimized Web sites
3. Online Lead Generation Services
4. Featured Listings
5. Email Campaigns
6. Yard Signs
7. Postcards/Mailers
8. Blogging
9. Facebook
10. LinkedIn

Personally speaking, I garner well over 80% of my business from the Web. So for me, the Internet is the best place to invest the bulk of my marketing budget.

Eric, I totally agree with you, I used to send out 20k post cards a month, for the past five years have not sent out one printed advertizement. All from the internet. Printed advertisement is a waste of money.

I'm with you Eric.  I get much of my business from the internet.  The other leads I get cost in the neighborhood of $1,000 per closed transaction.

Eric... Thanks for sharing. Referrals/word of mouth should always be on top as real estate is service/people business. However, technology running fast, the internet and web marketing will remain near the top as well.

I get about 90 percent of my business from the web.  (and I pay very little if any for it)  It still amazes me how many people have not gotten on board with technology.  I still occasionally come across an agent who doesn't check there email or doesnt even have one.  It never ceases to amaze me.   Thanks for the post good info.

Every day I am getting phone calls from people who found me on the internet. I do think Tha ActiveRain push has been more beneficiial than my actual website getting me the presencein my target market. Do have to keep it FRESH however. All good things take work, even internet presence!

Good breakdown of the facts Eric, I enjoyed the read. 50% of my business comes from signage so where does that fit in.
