Don't Mess with the Tax Deadlne
The clock is ticking.  It can be heard loud and clear throughout Northern Virginia.  The tax credit is expiring in four days.  However there are those who might consider cheating and signing a contract on May 1st or May 2nd and back dating it to April 30th.

Please don’t go there.  Though the tax credit is a great opportunity for first time buyers and repeat buyers, the IRS has already been slammed with cases of fraud surrounding the tax credit.   If your contract even has a faint whiff of fraud associated with it the tax credit will be the least of your problems.

If you are still looking for a property now is the time to take a couple of vacation days and dig in.  This Realtor® promises to keep working until 11:59 PM on April 30th to process offers on my Active listings.  I suspect other agents will be too!

But I won't backdate a contract no matter how many times you ask.
