As a Buyer Representative, I am GLAD that the Tax Credit is expiring. Are you SERIOUS you might say. Absolutely. I have watched this past month as potential purchasers RACE to go buy a home just to take advantage of the $8000.00 tax credit. Don't get me WRONG, I love to write contracts and close on homes. What I don't like is writing contracts on PROPERTIES just so a buyer can get a tax credit forgetting about the BIG picture, a HOME that TRULY call HOME.
A home is most likely the BIGGEST investment that most people make in their life. As a Buyer Representative, I want to help YOU the BUYER find the home that best fits your NEEDS, your WANTS, that will bring JOY to you everyday while you are in that home. I don't want YOU calling me in six months, a year or two absolutely MISERABLE in your Home, wanting to get out because you BOUGHT it in a QUICK FRANTIC because the tax credit was expiring.
On another note, I am very excited for those Buyers that were able to take advantage of the TAX CREDIT and found the HOME that was the ONE. Good for you and ENJOY the EXTRA benefit of PURCHASING A HOME. For all you BUYERS that haven't found the HOME for you yet, I am here to ASSIST you in that PROCESS, making it as SMOOTH as POSSIBLE. Thank you for your time reading my BLOG post and look forward to all COMMENTS.
P.S. I am not WORRIED one bit about the TAX CREDIT affecting us as Real Estate Agents selling homes. We have sold HOMES before it came and we will CONTINUE SELLING homes after it is gone. Just remember, interest rates are just over 5% and there are some incredibly priced homes for buyers to still scoop up. THAT IS AWESOME!!!!!
