April 2010 SALES are UP 26.7% in Bergen County, NJ

Real Estate Agent with Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Abbott Realtors

According to a new report just released by the New Jersey MLS single family home sales are UP over 26% for the month of April '10 over April '09.  The median price for all homes sold in this area is UP 5.9 percent to $360,000. Up to $420,000 for single family homes alone.

Open Houses have increased significantly as well. In April of 2009 there were 3,388 open houses and in April of 2010 there were 5,455! That is an increase of over 61%. This may have been influenced by the real estate boards in New Jersey --- having a full court press with the OPEN HOUSE weekend on April 21 and 22. And, it shows a significant uptick in real estate business and activity around the market area.
