My friend Linda Szarko owns Virginia's Rose, a consignment furnishings shop, that brings buyers and sellers together to de-furnish and re-furnish their homes. Lee and I visited the other day...what a great idea! (That's Lee with Linda, above)
This wonderful shop is located in Eldersburg, MD, at 1720 Liberty Road in the Oklahoma Shopping Center. Plenty of parking and and so convenient, just 15 minutes from Baltimore's Beltway I-695 and only 10 minutes from I-70.
After three years in Ellicott City, MD, Linda moved to this new address with a large showroom, over 4000', where she has created beautiful "rooms" out of the collection of furnishings and accessories.
So many times my sellers ask what to do with the bedroom furniture, the rugs, the dishes and all the other treasures that they no longer have need or space to keep? These are cherished items, family heirlooms, full of memories and more. Sure there are people who will dispose of their stuff (oh, how harsh!) or charities that take donations.
But here is another and maybe a better way! By appointment, Linda determines if consigning your treasured items will be a hassle free way to sell them, not discard them. And even if you don't need to sell or buy furnishings right now, this is still a fun place to visit. The inventory is always changing and guarantees a good collection of eye candy.
Virginia's Rose is a fun destination. You never know...you might just find that special piece that becomes a cherished treasure in your own home.
