There are times when I just hate my house - especially when it needs cleaning (like now). However, I'm sitting here looking out my window and see one of the great amenities of our area. The Delaware River - actually NO! Don't get me wrong I love the river, however, I don't have a river view unless you stand directly at the correct spot upstairs looking out the window.
It's the Delaware River Canal Towpath. Once ruled by mules and barges now hikers, bikers and I'll have to mention geese. I just returned from biking 3 miles - much needed exercise - to the Homestead General Store for lunch. I wonder if I can deduct mileage - I also dropped a brochure at my listing at 1406 River Road? Photo is of the swing and picnic table my seller provides for the weary traveler (geese excluded).
The canal and two path run from Easton to Bristol, a 60 mile stretch. Currently some portions closed because of flooding in recent years but the Friends of the Delaware Canal is continuing their efforts in making sure the canal and its surroundings are restored, preserved & improved. However, much of it is open and still enjoyable for use.
We sometimes think about moving, but we can't figure out how to move the towpath with us.
I think the Delaware Canal and Towpath sometimes take an undo back seat to the Delaware River.
More than just a home, more than just the people....
Enjoy your day!
