While You Were Away

Real Estate Agent with Referral Patners LLC 0583719

Rain DropLet me say that I am glad that Active Rain is up and operating again. I enjoy the interactions with business partners as well as potential customers on the outside blog or localism. There is a lot to learn and enjoy on the Active Rain Real Estate social network.

While you were away Active Rain my business kept going as usual and my calendar was full or should I say my hands. I had to work out the details of two closings which once or twice it would have been nice to share these details with the online community; you know moral support and ecnouragement that we all derive from our rain buddies. Facebook did help to fill in the gap and, if we are not already connected, here's my page.

I had the wonderful opportunity of representing both sides of the transactions since it was my seller buying. It can be a real eye opener to see what a seller will give or, in this case, not give but expect all the more when buying. Because I was dealing with the same client on both sides of the transaction I had to work diligently to ensure that the client's understanding was on target with the events of the days preceding the closings.

I made it through the inspections, repairs and walk-throughs. I handled all the various concerns with my client and dealt with some concerns or issues from the other side. I had a great business partner in Katherine Montgomery with Republic Title who also worked diligently to get the two closings to happen on time. Sure, we had a few hiccups but by the end of the day two clients in Dallas Texas are in their happy, new homes.

It is possible for work to go on without Active Rain but in my short two years I have been a rainmaker I have found it much more fun to have the network in my corner. Welcome back Active Rain.

Teral, I think I actually enjoyed a little break from blogging... even if it was only a few days!

Hi Teral,

Yes Melinda makes a point... and it does show that many of us enjoyed networking and blogging so much that we missed chatting with each other here!

This is a fantastic place for agents who utilize everything the site offers.

Many of us missed the network!  But yes a break is usually a good thing as well!

My desk is a much cleaner place today - I'm really hoping to reach 'paperless' sometime soon but now that AR is back it's not looking quite so promising....

Hi Melinda, Tom, Michael and Michael, I do agree we need some "get away" time as it does help us to put things in perspective. Good to be back.
