Addicted to ActiveRain?.....Quite possibly if you are blogging during a Tornado!!

Real Estate Broker/Owner with Expert Real Estate Partners LLC

Okay... there is not really a tornado ripping apart my home right now however, the tornado siren is blaring and my fire pager has alot of chatter on it. So I am sitting here browsing the latest posts and inputting my comments when the local news cuts in with a weather emergency update. A strong line of storms with violent power cells is moving into the area. Storm spotters are out around the outside areas of town and are reporting high activity. So it pops in my head that I should do a post about tornado safety and what to do in case of one.

Seek shelter NOW!

That will be the very next post that I do since tornado season is upon us! However, I still can't help but sit here and wonder if I am normal to be blogging while a potentially violent storm is about to hit town. Is that normal?? I wonder if ActiveRain will ever have a contest to see who has had the craziest blogging story. So that is mine does anyone else have any stories on crazy moments blogging while on ActiveRain?!

Please feel free to share!

Oh and does anyone have a cure for this AR Affliction?? Apparently the Proxy errors have not cured me yet! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

On a side note I had to finish this post after a quick run to the fire station where I am a volunteer. Apparently a tornado touched down somewhere near our town so we were all paged to respond to the station as a precaution. ( If a tornado was headed towards town or would touch down we move all of the fire trucks out of town and from the path so that we can provide emergency services once the storm passes thru. ) The storm has now passed and we have no severe damage in our area. Hmmmmmm, now I wonder what has been posted since I was gone.  :-)

Hi Duane - I've never felt addicted to AR.  I was addicted to a discussion forum back in the 90's, so I know the feeling, but I rode out the server migration crisis without a problem.  I just turned my focus to other things.  I think I could have become addicted to AR in it's early years when I first joined, if I had participated more fully.  It was a small community back then where people knew one another.  I was just gun shy from the other Internet addiction, so I've been a moderate user of AR.

Duane, I actually was blogging this past weekend while my streets were flooded, dangerous lightning filled the skies, and tornados were touching down all over the area. I wanted to be with friends, and ActiveRain was the place to be, and I felt the Lord in my heart and fallen trees on the side of my little home throughout the most spine-chilling storm I have ever witnessed. The cleanup has started and the skies are blue. Blogging in an environment such as ActiveRain has a level of maturity and integrity which is uncompromising and beneficial. We can only become stronger because of the kindness and good thoughts that all of us share.
