Advice For Pet OwnersTerry Westbrook shares important information on 10 Common Foods That Are Toxic To Pets and 10 Most Common Plants That Are Poisonous to Pets

Original content by Terry & Bonnie Westbrook

We don’t feed our dog human food, well, not much.  Our little silkie

does like beef jerky and potato chips!  But in researching how

many common food items are extremely toxic

is really surprising.  I knew about chocolate and leftover bones but

not the rest of the list.  Macadamia nuts, really!

Australian Silkie Terrier

We had a dog that loved grapes…..gee, we did not know they

weren't good for her.  I also had a friend in California

who lived next to an avocado grove. Her dog would gorge himself

on ripe avocados………..and then he had kidney failure.

Be aware if your cat likes to eat leaves, many of the common

spring flowers and holiday blooms are toxic to animals.

So read the list, educate yourself and try to resist those imploring

glances.   We will, too.

I'm hoping Terry read the list that he posted. I thought everyone knew not to give jerky, potato chips, and other foods with lots of salt in them to dogs. It's simply best to teach dogs to eat dog food unless they are outside doing a lot of running, such as fending for themselves each and every day.

Water from the Christmas tree stand is also very bad for dogs.  I recommend putting a mesh over it so they don't get to the water & you can still water your tree.
