Do you know RIGHT from WRONG when it comes to Short Sales?
I received a call this week from a distraught home owner who asked about the possible short sale of their home. They told me that they've been trying to work with the bank for 8 months to get a loan modification on their loan, but the lender stopped talking to them about 6 months ago.
Problem was the more they talked with me, the more "Red Flags" kept popping up in my mind.
Their story had more twists and turns and contradictions the more they talked. After a short while, I asked them point blank, "Do you think your lender believes your "story?" No Answer. "Why do you think they stopped talking to you 6 months ago?" No Answer.
Bottom line, they don't want to sell their home or even move. They want their lender to reduce the principal balance of their loan from when they purchased it three years ago to today's market value price, and from my brief conversation were ready to do ANYTHING to make that happen, including having me go along for the ride.
I AM NOT THERE TO JUDGE YOU! I WANT TO WORK WITH YOU! BUT YOU DO HAVE TO BE HONEST!
