Welcome to Burleson. A city just south of Fort Worth, Burleson has a wonderful country atmosphere along with many modern facilities.
The town was founded in 1881 and named for Dr. Rufus C. Burleson, President of Baylor University in Waco. Burleson was a thriving community in its early days because of abundant water supplies as well as lots of wooded areas and good farming soil. Situated on the edge of the rich black lands, the area is ideal for farming and ranching. Even to this day, many call Burleson and surrounding areas home. This location is an ideal distance to many of DFW's major cities and as Fort Worth is a cattle industry giant, it attracts many to this area.
Burleson has had steady growth through the years but maintains it's small-town feel. The city is constantly looking for ways to improve its services and offer more amenities to its residents. I'll be highlighting various new projects going on in the city as well as some of the rural areas that attract many cattle and horsemen in the coming weeks.
