How Can You Help to Save The Sea Turtles? Info by Your Ponce Inlet REALTOR®, Lisa Hill

Saving the Sea Turtles is a topic on which I've blogged before, but since I was just cleaning up one of my old YouTube channels, I ran across this old video on the subject when I found a new comment on it. So I decided it was time to post a little reminder about the precarious balance of nature, and the need to protect it.

In the embedded video, I discuss a program we have here in Ponce Inlet Florida, where you can actually adopt a Sea Turtle nest, and physically mark the nest you've adopted, and are helping to protect. In the video I mentioned that there are links in the side bar. Since that side bar does not show up here, you'll find the links below this video. And if you don't have time to watch the whole video (since I was addressing the community, and my personal subscribers as well) you can just go to the links, and decide for yourself how you'd like to participate.

My husband likes to do this kind of stuff. I think we've adopted a panda, giraffe, elephant, a flamingo, and a meerkat over the years, but they all are at the San Diego Zoo. I don't think we've actually adopted something out in the wild.

Kerry- Glad you enjoyed it =)

Jim- Why am I not surprised? lol. I told him they need to give him his own cage at the San Diego Zoo. HAHA! He practically lives there anyway!

Lisa, We 'Owned' thre turtle nests here in Ponce Inlet, and our kids had one in Flagler county. We were present when they were opening the nest 3 days after they hatched, and we found 14 tiny turtles, that could not get out on their own, so we helped them.

Jon- That's awesome! Did you get any pictures of the turtles you heped? They must have been adorable. And I think it's an incredible program. Thanks for sharing. It's so cool to hear a first-hand story!

I just saw on MSNBC that they've found 46 dead sea turtles so far this year. Over in the Gulf they're expecting bad things for the sea turtles from the oil spill.
