HEWITT TRUSSVILLE MIDDLE SCHOOL
National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony
This morning I attended the ceremony to induct new members into the National Junior Honor Society at Hewitt Trussville Middle School. The ceremony was led by the Chapter Advisor, Amanda McIntosh, who also teaches 7th grade English. It's obvious that she loves her students and is very proud of their accomplishments. The auditorium was filled with proud families who came to see their 7th and 8th graders receive this special honor!

Last year my granddaughter, Molly, was inducted into the National Junior Honor Society and this year she served as the group's Historian. She and the other officers welcomed the new members with certificates, pins and candles that they lit as they recited the Honor Society Pledge.

The officers each spoke about a quality that members possess. Molly spoke about Character.....the others spoke about Scholarship, Leadership, Service and Citizenship.

She also created a video that she uploaded to YouTube from photos and video she took with her Flip during their service project to assist the school's custodial staff. It was shown at the beginning of the ceremony and here it is....(I thought she did a great job, I think I need to get her to help me edit video)!
Congratulations Students! You make us proud!
