Technology

Feeling bogged down with technology?  Does it seem to evolve quicker than you can adapt?  Thinking that in time it just might go away?  OR thinking that technology or social media just doesn't matter and you don't need it anyways?

Well, you're not alone.  Many agents feel the same way you do.  They think of twitter and want to shoot the dang bird.  They look at Facebook and can't think of what to talk about daily, so they just add friends once a week when they log in because that happen to remember to log in.  Or they look at linkedIn and build the most perfect profile, so that if anyone searches for them they will find a great static site of themselves.

The only challenge I have to those thoughts, is that success in real estate may pass you by if you let it.  If you are on a train going the wrong direction, the first step you have to take is to get of the train!  Realize what your strengths and weaknesses are.  Accepting them is the first step to helping you overcome what it is you want to be better at.

Realize that it will take time to be better at something.  It may take weeks or months to achieve what it is that you want to excel at.  So start with 5 minutes a day for the first week.  Do not keep bulldozing your way through a computer program until you are red in the face and want to throw the computer...  Take 5 minutes a day max.  Then extend it to 10 minutes when you feel that you are ready to do more.  In time your abilities will grow and your comfort level will increase.  Just give yourself time every day, just not too much time.  You will see that you will become an expert in no time at all!

In no time at all, we will see you at the top of the search lists, top of the social charts, and posting great tweets in no time at all...  Good luck!

Chirs,

This is very true. one has to realize what he/she is doing is wrong or right and then make the change and start moving in the right direction. I think that too many people get overwhelmed with starting something they have never tried before. Baby steps is what I call it. I do not have a lot of time for many blogging. But, I make sure I get on for a short period everyday regardless. 15 mins everyday will create a habit and next thing you know, you are committing more time and thoughtfulness into social media.

Mornin' Chris! I think it's about balancing your marketing programs and always look for results. I social network on Wednesdays to keep myself in the loop, but still allows me to do what I need to do the rest of the week to fill my pipeline! "Welcome to My World!"
