Control your emotions when you're negotiating   

Staying in control of your emotions when you're negotiating is critical element of successful negotiations.  

If we lose control of our emotions we lose control of the negotiating process.  

Experienced negotiators will use the tactic of attempting to have you lose control of your emotions when they're negotiating with you. If they become successful and you lose control of your emotions they take power position and have the advantage in the negotiating process.    

They will challenge your personally, your ability and your position in the negotiations to disrupt you. Remain focused on the big picture not the opinion of the other person.  

Focus on the issues in the negotiation not the people.  

The person that can stay in control of their emotions are in the power position in the negotiations.
