When you walk into an empty house, what do you remember about it later in the day. Do you remember if there was a fireplace? Double ovens? Were those granite counters? Walk-in Closets? Is there a formal dining area or family room? What kind of flooring was used? Wall color? Did it have enough closet space and storage? You looked at 4 houses today. How do you remember the particulars of each one?
What's special about an empty room?
As a listing agent, you want people to remember the property you're trying to sell. You want potential buyers drooling over the thought of living in your client's house. You want them moved in mentally - imagining themselves living in there. You want them running back to their realtors' office to write up and submit an offer - a serious, full price offer. So...How do you make that happen?
You have your listing professionally staged, that's how. Professional stagers know how to present a home in all its glory, highlighting all the features and focal points you want potential buyers to notice. Properly staged homes create a warm, memorable and inviting environment. There's positive energy flowing throughout the home saying "BUY ME"! Staged homes create interest and appeal that unstaged properties just don't have.
Come on in. Sit down. Relax and enjoy. Live here.
According to the Real Estate Staging Association's (RESA) 2010 Staging Statistics Report, unstaged vacant and occupied homes sat on the market for an average of 263 days while staged homes sold on average in 40.5 days. These numbers alone should be all the incentive you need to have your listing staged before putting it on the market. But if your house is already listed, don't worry - it's not too late. Homes that were already listed and then staged sold in about 60 days on average after being staged. So the sooner you have your property staged, the sooner it's going to sell.
