This post is the continuation of my last post entitled: It's Game Seven Tonight - Guess Who I am Rooting For?
Habs Win! HabsWin! The Montreal Canadiens advance to the Conference Finals (Final Four of NHL hockey) for the first time since 1993. They eliminated last year's Stanly Cup champions (Pittsburgh Penguins) about a week after eliminating the best team during the regular season (Washington Capitals). Montreal came back from a 3-1 series deficit to win the last 3 games and eliminate the Capitals and they came back from a 3-2 series deficit to win the last 2 games and eliminate the Penguins. In order words, Montreal is 5-0 this year in the playoffs when playing facing elimination in a game.
The Cinderella story continues with the amazing play of the Montreal Canadiens (a.k.a Habs) in this year's Stanley Cup playoffs.
This photo rightfully completes the series of photo shown in my last blog post:
As you notice the big clouds in the sky in Red Lodge (and the light that shines through them), please note that I am still on cloud 9!
I am very thankful and could not be any prouder for the team I have cheered since my high school years: the Montreal Canadiens.
I still would like to acknowledge the good play by the Pittsburgh Penguins. After all, they did make to the Stanley Cup Finals the last two years and won the Stanley Cup last year. I did have a congratulations post and tribute to the Penguins (believe it or not) done last year. Here is a link to last year's post and tribute to the Penguins: March of the Penguins
Go Habs Go!

Interesting fact:
The Penguins played a total of 1,802 games at the Mellon Arena since the Igloo opened its doors on October 11, 1967 with a 2-1 loss to the Canadiens. History is such that they will have also lost the last game played at the Mellon Arena against the Canadiens (game 7 of the NHL playoffs on May 12, 2010). Next year, the Penguins will play in a brand new arena right across the street of where the Mellon Arena currently stands. What are the odds of losing to the same team for the first and last games in the same arena with 1,800 games in between?
