1930's bathroom transformed - updated with realtors testimonial

Thank you Virginia!  You did a great job on this Grosse Pointe Woods house I listed!  Patience, lots of hard work, an eye on how to bring the best out of this 30's house...a cooperative seller and, of course, a realtor who believed in you and was "in your court" (me!) - we did receive a great offer within 3 weeks of listing.  I firmly believe it was due to you taking the time to prepare and not having us rush into listing.

A realtor that I've known for a long long time has given me a great challenge and I'm excited about it.

The home is a bungalow built in 1938 in the city of Grosse Pointe Woods

The bathroom has the most un-usual color tile that I've ever seen.

aubergine burgandy tile

The color is between a Aubergine and Burgundy with black trim.

 

 

The budget for the home didn't allow more than paint and a few accoutrements (my clients verbage)

 

The walls were painted a very light lavender.  All the Pink was removed and it was staged.

Virginia- you did a fantastic job.  I'm from Houston and there are a lot of home with pink or green tiles in them.  By neutralizing everything else you gave the bathroom an inexpensive update!

Ella,   they are lovely homes.  this is the first time that I've been able to show a home with such an interesting bathroom

Sally, thanks   We thought the tiles should 'shine' and not be hidden away.  Pink was not the way to go with this bathroom

cheryl, Finding towels that also match the tiles was a challenge.   I'm glad that it worked out

Great job!  I actually have seen that color of tile in a house before, and the choice of pale lavender sounds just perfect! The look is of a vintage boutique hotel, very nice!

You were one up on me.  I've never seen that color before and it gave me a few moments of 'what am I going to do with it'

I had my painter on hold for a couple of days while I choose the color.
