Viral Email that you don't want

Real Estate Agent with Prominent Realty Group

Over the last week we have been bombarded by emails featuring attachments in a zip file. So have a few of our friends as well. Usually the title of the email sounds official enough, like invoice, past due, etc....  the emails of course were nothing more than a virus.

Sometimes your anti-virus software will not catch virus files hidden in a compressed attachment like a zip file.  If you get these emails, don't unzip the attachment or preview it either. Simply delete them and make sure your anti-virus software is up to date.  You should also have a program installed that will check for trojans, key loggers and the like because those types of malware are often hidden the same way.   Apparently people still have to much time on their hands... -Charles

We've been getting bombarded by these too -- one particular e-mail address that we only use for our website leads.  Do you think they are targeting our lead generation forms on our websites?

I've been hammered with this crap lately.  It's like every other email is one of these files, either zip or pdf.

Been getting a ton of those lately too!

Someone in our office actually opened one and messed up our internal network... can you say, DUH!

I'm sure they target email forms. Dawn, don't be so sure working on a Mac will save you. Some of these thigns are multi-system operational.

Matt, how long did it take to clean up? -Charles
